The night seemed to belong to him
Two goals against Chivas are enough to get a young player noticed across Mexico. Mora scored in the fifth and 64th minutes at the Caliente. Alongside Frank Boya’s goal, that put Tijuana 3–0 ahead. For a while, the performance and the score appeared to be telling the same wonderful story.
Then the game changed
Guadalajara fought back through Armando González, Efraín Álvarez and Roberto Alvarado to finish level at 3–3. Mora’s double survived in the highlights. The victory did not survive on the scoreboard. That difference is important, especially on a fan site: the most interesting careers are never made entirely of uncomplicated triumphs.
What the double tells us
It offered another example of Mora affecting a senior game as a scorer, rather than merely looking comfortable on the ball. Two finishes in different phases of a match make a useful viewing exercise. Watch where he begins the move and when he becomes a threat. A midfielder’s danger is not always obvious from his starting position.
A lesson larger than one player
A three-goal advantage belongs to the team, and so does the responsibility to manage it. It would be unfair to make a teenager the explanation for everything that followed. The lasting picture is more human: a memorable personal night sitting beside a result that Tijuana had every reason to regret. Both parts deserve to be remembered.
